[[Russian Propaganda Poster

Introduction

Propaganda is the systematic material that disseminates or persuades by the advocates or opponents of a doctrine or cause. It’s reflecting the views and interests of those advocating. This material grabs the attention of people who look at. Propaganda is a famous method that is used in political areas. The propaganda should be well-proportioned and easy to understand. It could be only picture or including text. The propaganda makes history easier because we can understand the situations or the problems easier; it tells us what was happening during that era. Also, you could learn from propaganda posters the thoughts and ideas of the people at the time and what the government was trying to make the people believe.

Propaganda Posters"*

This propaganda poster represented Lenin and his slogan, “Peace Land Bread”. He created a slogan because he thought it could be easily undermined. According to the poster, Lenin wanted to promote his slogan and he wanted people to support him. It also made people to think that Lenin would make Russia out of the war, he would allow people to own land, and he would end the food shortages; if people support him. All of the above were the things that all people in Russia wanted.

This poster shows how proud the Russian were towards Lenin, Marx, and Engel. The person holding the flag isn’t embarrassed and is showing off the 3 men to the world. The 3 men on the flag are looking toward the same way which symbolizes that they have the same ideas and are ready to put it into work. The people are the audience they want to put the ideas of the 3 men into work. The writing on the poster states Peace; Work; Socialism; and Disarmament. This picture is very effective because the 3 men are on the flag symbolizes the ideas and that the world should use these ideas. It also shows how the people are showing it off and everyone wants to use their ideas and work on it.

On this propaganda poster, there is the picture of Lenin in the middle of the poster and the workers are all around him, which probably means that Lenin was the center of the power in the country and everyone should obey him. It also shows how famous Lenin was at that time. The quote in the poster said “The homeland, the Communist Party and time call: “Communists, forward!” It shows that the middle class of the people, workers, in Russia liked Lenin’s idea because of the way they cheer and supported it, so they wanted to follow his revolution.

This propaganda poster shows a soldier paying respect and loyalty to the red flag with the symbol of the star, which is the symbol of the revolution. In the background is also the hammer and the sickle, which represents the Soviet Union. The poster encourages men to be loyal to the country and to fight for the country because it is the "right" thing to do. The poster is very eye-catching because it has beautiful solid colors that contrast each other just about right.

In this poster, Stalin was portrayed as a kind and wise leader. The poster uses a lot of bright red color, the color of the revolution, to capture the attention of the audience. The purpose of this propaganda of poster is to convince the population of Russia that Stalin is like "superman," or in this case, a "super leader." This is so that Russians will obey and respect Stalin and will not cause riots or a civil war.

The flags of the different republics united in the form of the hammer and the sickle (the symbols of the Soviet Union) can have 2 interpretations. The first is to convince Russians that the republics are united as one. The other, however, may be to encourage the members of the different republics of Russia to be strongly united as one as so that the country may progress. The picture shows representatives of the different republics and the color gold is used vividly, somewhat to show of the elegance of Russia. The hammer and the sickle is also on top and is probably the first object that catches the eye of the audience, making it a quite efficient propaganda poster.

Conclusion

The propaganda posters are always showing the ideas violently for making people understand the gold directly. Many of the propaganda posters during the time promote communist ideas and violent means of revolution. They also tend to portray their leaders as wise and great. The posters evidently who, or what, they supported. They are interesting; they showed me that propaganda posters were widely used back then and play a major role in influencing the ideas of the population. They also make me think that they are somewhat like advertisements we have now. I think these means of persuasion are still very efficient, even in modern times.
